The “Lebaran” Visits

There are four members of my family. They are my father, my mother, my sister, and me. Like the other family, we usually visit some relatives on “Lebaran” holidays. We all come from Malang, so we do not do the “Pulang Kampung” tradition. Anyway, we still have a tradition to do some visits on the “Lebaran” holidays every year. On this last “Lebaran” holidays, as usual, we visited some relatives and colleagues.

At the first day, we visited my aunt’s house. She is my father’s elder sister. So, every year, when we have some special occasions, we always gather in her housewith some relatives from my father’s side. In my aunt’s house, as we used to be, we greeted each other and ask for forgiveness our mistakes. Then we had some idle chit-chats and snacks while we were waiting for the dinner.

At the second day, we visited some relatives from my mother’s side. My mother is the only child in her family, so we visited my grandmother’s brothers. We visited them from house to house. We had some long trips, because they live in some villages andseparated from each other. I met my favorite relative, one of my grandmother’s younger brothers. He used to be very close to me when I was a child, and until now, he likes to hug me every time I come to his house. At his house, we had lunch together. His wife made a delicious dish that I have never seen before, but my father and I liked it. After that we drank our own favorite beverages. I preferred coffee, and the other family members preferred tea.

Then we went to another house. It was a house of another younger brother of my grandmother. He is a smoker, but every time I visit his house, I always ask him not to smoke. Because I cannot stand on smokes, I hate smokes. So he stopped smoking while I was there. Because we already had our lunch, we only had some chats and snacks. When we asked for their permission to visit other relative, they gave us some snacks to bring. They were my favorite snacks, so I was very happy for that. Then the last visit was to go to the other younger brother of my grandmother.

At the third day, my father and my mother went out for some visits to my father’s colleagues, but my sister and I stayed home because we did not want to have those visits. At the fourth day, we went out to a village near Bromo Mountain and Batu. We went to the first place to visit an old colleague of my father. On our way home, we had a lunch in a restaurant. It was a nice lunch, because we ate lots of dishes and beverages made from sweet potatoes. It was new for me but I enjoyed it. Then the second visit was done in the evening. We went to Batu and enjoyed its beautiful scenery at night. To end the holidays, we went to the other relatives from my father again.

They were quite tiring activities, especially for my father who had to drive the car. But we enjoyed it very much, and I like the visit to a village near Bromo Mountain the most.

The Students of English Department

My class in English department has twenty competitive and lovely students. Although our class has the fewest members in the university, but the lecturers comment that our class is the loveliest class ever. We never behave disrespectfully to the lecturers. We also never make such an over-noisy situation. In maintaining the relationship with the class members in the class, we are always full of tolerance and respect each other. We sometimes have our lunch together in the class. We also play together if we have spare time after lunch. We like to share stories and jokes together. We never divide our class into parts. Even though each of us has our own best friends in class, we still can get along well. When we have special events, such as birthdays, celebrating holidays, welcoming the freshmen, or even without any special event, we like to have parties. Some of our foreign lecturers like to treat us in some special occasion, and we often have potluck parties. During the classroom process, we compete well and fairly. We share information and knowledge, but we try our best to compete during the exams. Some friends like to see others’ score and try to be better next time. So, we appreciate good attempts very much. I enjoy joining this class very much and have such a comfortable and conducive study environment.
